Such a big girl!

Addi is getting so big!! I'm so mad at myself for not updating here when she was 7 AND 8 months and now she is 9 MONTHS! Geez, I'm pathetic.

Our sweet Addi is a whole 9 months now and I'm pretty sure she is the cutest 9 month old that ever did live! :) Here are some fun things she is doing right now...

- Since my last update she has been sitting up...she started sitting right after we got back from Christmas so around 7 months

- Her newest skill is clapping! Its soo cute, I got a video of her clapping today...

- It also looks like she waved hello in that video...not sure if that was a fluke or is she was really waving hi, she seems to be coming up with new tricks all the time now

- Addi is a champion eater! She eats A LOT! But you wouldn't know it to look at her, she is still pretty petite still fitting into some of her 6 month clothes but she also is fitting into 9-12 month sizes too.

- Her favorite food is fruit...she LOVES pears and anything fruity but she is starting to warm up to peas and beans more, but really she isn't very picky, she also loves carrots and sweet potatoes

- She now has TWO teeth! And is a little biter when nursing....OUCH!

- Her hair is getting longer, she lost some of it on the sides but the top is getting longer and it seems to be getting lighter

- No crawling yet and I'm not encouraging it very much, I know once she starts moving it'll be a whole different ball game! She does scoot backwards and gets pretty far if she wants to, as you can see if the picture below...she had started sitting with the boppy around there and ended up on her tummy scooted all the way back...lol She is so funny!

- The Wii Fit says she is about 17.5 lbs which sounds about right...she hasn't had her 9 month check up yet so we'll see how much she weighs then

We sure do love our Addi! She lights up our day every day! Its the cutest thing when Zach comes home, she hears the lock turning and starts looking around for the sound, then Zach comes in and there's a BIG smile. She is such a sweet heart!

The Most Beautiful Girl In The World...

Amy and I took an impromptu trip to Seattle this last weekend with my co-workers Jay and Stephanie. We're talking really last minute. Jay and Stephanie are both from Seattle. So they make the 5-6 hour drive quite frequently. Amy's sister lives in the Seattle area as well. Jay and Stephanie know this so when they were talking Friday afternoon about going for the weekend, Stephanie asked if Amy, Addi and I wanted to tag along. (If nothing else, for them it would make splitting the gas cheaper.)

So when I got home I mentioned it to Amy and it was decided... (after some thought, phone calls, and a best 2 out of 3 round of Addi picking between 2 rubber ducks - one representing "stay at home" and the other "go to Seattle." At first stay at home won all three rounds, but then we did a winner takes all round and Seattle won... then she started using the Seattle duck to pound the stay at home duck... Then it was clear what Addi thought!)

This wasn't the first time we'd visited Jenny and Todd in Seattle... it was the second... But the first time we went we just stayed at their home and neighborhood because it was over Easter and General Conference. So we wanted to try and do something a little more touristy this time. We ended up going to Pike Place Market. (Yes, the one where they throw the fish.) Unfortunately, the fish were not flying due to some renovation, much to Amy's disappointment. But it was still a fun experience. Lots of little booths with fresh food, flowers, and all sorts of gifts. And since it was raining (when does it NOT rain in Seattle... seriously), it was a great place to be and not get wet.

The thing that I found most humorous about being there was how many people commented to us about Addi. There were at least 6 different people who stopped us as we were walking and browsing to tell us how adorable Addi is and how cute she looks. At one point a group of Asian tourists ambushed Addi and I to say how cute she was and ask if they could take pictures of her. I said sure, why not... so they each snapped a picture or two. (Unfortunately I don't think she had her bow on... So if you find a picture of Addi roaming the internet titled "Cute American Baby" without a flower and headband... that's my fault.

The even more humorous thing is this isn't the first time that's happened (people stopping us in public to tell us how cute Addi is.) When Addi was about 4 months we took a trip to Spokane. While there we there we stopped by the mall (because it's about 5 times the size of the Lewiston mall.) While we were walking through Nordstrom we had, no joke, 5 people stop us and tell us Addi was the most beautiful baby they'd ever seen. And one guy said he had kids of his own... (ouch, sorry kids, your dad has betrayed you.)

I'm not complaining... I happen to agree that Addi is the most beautiful girl in the world. (She gets it from her mom (aka the most beautiful woman in the world.) I just think it's interesting how many other people go out of their way to remind me.

Because let's be honest... This little girl is in fact the most beautiful girl in the world...

Even with carrots all over her face.

Laughing Addi

(yes I know, I failed at keeping up with the daily posts AGAIN...I'll finish them someday...)

Addi is growing up so fast! Her little personality is showing more and more. The other night there was this commercial that had this little tune to it and I was rocking my head back and forth singing it to her and she was CRACKING up! I would stop, then start again and she would laugh her head off again! lol It was really funny and adorable...see for yourself...

Back in the saddle....Day #16

Ok, I know you all have been wondering where I've been...right?! lol...quite the opposite I'm sure. I definitely lose the game of daily posting...what can I say...I'm not perfect. So instead of going crazy and trying to catch up I'm going to start anew and keep going starting today...so here ya go, picking up where I left off...Day #16 - a picture of me....

Ha ha ha! We had this dress up box that I loved to get into! I can still smell that wig..lol! I'd also put the wig on, glasses, a blanket over my back, hunch over with the vacuum attachment as my "cane" and pretend I was an old person. Those were the days...

6 Month Feature

We interrupt our normal posting to bring you this 6 month feature of our incredibly adorable Addilyn...

Can you believe she is 6 MONTHS?! Wow. Half of a year. Thats crazy. And how BIG she has gotten!
She hasn't had her 6 month appointment yet so I'll be back later with her stats but here is what she has been up to...

- SPITTING! not spitting up, but spitting...like a cross between razzing and spitting...you have to be careful or she'll get ya right in the face

- Eating....she has now had rice cereal, applesauce, bananas (only a few bites and she didn't seem to like them very much, we'll have to try again), pears and peas! She is doing really well but we still need to work on the art of the spoon.

- Still nursing about every three hours and napping about 3 times a day though I'm lucky if its even an hour at a time...I sure wish I could figure out how to get her to nap longer

- She is now very proficient at rolling over...she goes from her back to her tummy quite frequently and then she'll bury her face in her hands and suck on them...lol...then she gets mad, she knows how to roll back over but won't do it very much...silly girl.

- She is like her mommy and loves to sleep on her tummy...there is no stopping her now, even when Zach tries to put a rolled up blanket to keep her from rolling she just goes the other way. :)

- She is pushing her head and chest up really well now on her tummy as you can see from the picture above....I'm sure she'll be figuring out how to army crawl soon

- Addi loves to suck on her hands! And anything else for that matter...I see some teeth in our near future. Be careful or she'll get you with one of her slimy hands!

- Babbling...this one is new, like just yesterday and today...I've been telling her to say "mamama" for a little while but she has just started doing in yesterday and a lot more today. But just when she is upset...lol...its really cute. She'll say "mamama" or something that sounds like "tatata" It makes her seem so much older hearing her "talk" like that.

- SMELLY diapers! Oh my goodness my least favorite thing is her poopy diapers...they SMELL now...like really smelly...and brown and goopy...but at least she doesn't have blowouts anymore but oh that SMELL...yuck!

- Laughing...she laughs more but still not very often...she seems to be selectively ticklish, sometimes she is and sometime she isn't...be she sure does SMILE! And I love how her eyes just LIGHT UP!

We sure do love our Addi!!!

Day #14 - A picture of you and your family

Day #13 A letter to someone who has hurt you recently

Dear lady smoking at the light festival,

Smoking is BAD! And it smells! And I really don't want my baby breathing it in, I don't like breathing it either. Even though it was outside its still very inconsiderate to smoke so close to the crowd of people. We had to move to a spot where we couldn't see as well. Go AWAY from people if you want to smoke.

Thanks
A concerned mommy

Day #11 & #12

Geez...I keep falling behind....

Day 11- Another picture of you and your friends

Julie is one of my dearest friends, only one of the handful of people that held our precious Alexis, she is an angel on earth and we will be forever grateful for the gift she gave us...memories of our angel.

Day 12- How you found out about blogger and why you have one

Honestly I don't remember how I found out about blogger...but the reason I have one...to document our life, to keep a history. I want to remember the little things as well as the big things.

Day # 10 - Songs you listen to when you are happy, sad, bored, hyped, mad

Thats a lot of categories...lets see, I'll break it down...

Happy - anything with a beat - Jackson 5's "ABC's" is really great to lift your spirits!

Sad - if I'm sad about Alexis I'll listen to some of "her" songs I have like "Held" by Natalie Grant or "You Wouldn't Cry" by Mandisa

Bored - I really don't know...probably country

Mad - Um...I used to listen to that song called "Vindicated" when I was mad but haven't listened to it in a long time

Hyped - Again, don't really know...these are hard questions...I really just listen to whatever sounds good to me at the moment but I love Country music, though I do like all kinds of songs, its really on a song to song basis...not so much about the band.

Day #8 & #9

Playing catchup once again! Maybe it wasn't a good idea to do this around the holidays. lol Oh well...so yesterday's post was supposed to be...Short term goals for this month and why

- Go to bed by 11:00pm - if you'll remember one of my bad habits is staying up way too late and this talk from General Conference made me realize that by doing so I'm being disobedient. So we need to fix that. I will probably make an exception around the holidays with family, etc. but I'm going to try and be better about it on the normal days.

- Cook Thanksgiving dinner! - thats TOMORROW! ahhh! :)

Ok...now today's challenge is: Something you're proud of in the past few days

Oh oh oh I know! I'm sooo proud of myself for making dinner rolls AND cinnamon rolls last night! And they actually turned out pretty good I think. My mom makes THE BEST cinnamon rolls and its a tradition to have them and egg casserole Thanksgiving & Christmas mornings. In the past I've failed at the rolls but this time I think I did pretty good!

Day #7 - A picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you

I don't know if I can just choose one thing that has THE biggest impact on me...I think there are multiple things so the one I choose to share now is this...

The scriptures...The Bible AND The Book of Mormon. If you haven't read the Book of Mormon, whether you are LDS or not, you really should. It will change your life. I promise. And I don't lie.

If you read it with an open mind and a real desire to know if it is true you will know.

Try it...I dare ya. :)

If I told you there was a book, not a substitute for the Bible, but rather a companion to the Bible, that contained more of God's word, wouldn't you want to read it? Well that is what the Book of Mormon is, ANOTHER Testament of Jesus Christ. If you are sincerely interested, go here to get your own free copy. You won't be sorry. But you have to promise me one thing, if you do read it, please say a prayer...just ask God to let you know if what you are reading is true. He'll tell you.

Day #6 - Favorite Super Hero and why

Oh goodness I have no clue...I'm gonna choose He-man because Zach loves the cartoon from his childhood and my nephew was really cute and would say his prayers like this "please bless the food to make us strong like He-man"! lol And they teach really great lessons in the cartoon.
