6 Month Feature

We interrupt our normal posting to bring you this 6 month feature of our incredibly adorable Addilyn...

Can you believe she is 6 MONTHS?! Wow. Half of a year. Thats crazy. And how BIG she has gotten!
She hasn't had her 6 month appointment yet so I'll be back later with her stats but here is what she has been up to...

- SPITTING! not spitting up, but spitting...like a cross between razzing and spitting...you have to be careful or she'll get ya right in the face

- Eating....she has now had rice cereal, applesauce, bananas (only a few bites and she didn't seem to like them very much, we'll have to try again), pears and peas! She is doing really well but we still need to work on the art of the spoon.

- Still nursing about every three hours and napping about 3 times a day though I'm lucky if its even an hour at a time...I sure wish I could figure out how to get her to nap longer

- She is now very proficient at rolling over...she goes from her back to her tummy quite frequently and then she'll bury her face in her hands and suck on them...lol...then she gets mad, she knows how to roll back over but won't do it very much...silly girl.

- She is like her mommy and loves to sleep on her tummy...there is no stopping her now, even when Zach tries to put a rolled up blanket to keep her from rolling she just goes the other way. :)

- She is pushing her head and chest up really well now on her tummy as you can see from the picture above....I'm sure she'll be figuring out how to army crawl soon

- Addi loves to suck on her hands! And anything else for that matter...I see some teeth in our near future. Be careful or she'll get you with one of her slimy hands!

- Babbling...this one is new, like just yesterday and today...I've been telling her to say "mamama" for a little while but she has just started doing in yesterday and a lot more today. But just when she is upset...lol...its really cute. She'll say "mamama" or something that sounds like "tatata" It makes her seem so much older hearing her "talk" like that.

- SMELLY diapers! Oh my goodness my least favorite thing is her poopy diapers...they SMELL now...like really smelly...and brown and goopy...but at least she doesn't have blowouts anymore but oh that SMELL...yuck!

- Laughing...she laughs more but still not very often...she seems to be selectively ticklish, sometimes she is and sometime she isn't...be she sure does SMILE! And I love how her eyes just LIGHT UP!

We sure do love our Addi!!!

Day #14 - A picture of you and your family

Day #13 A letter to someone who has hurt you recently

Dear lady smoking at the light festival,

Smoking is BAD! And it smells! And I really don't want my baby breathing it in, I don't like breathing it either. Even though it was outside its still very inconsiderate to smoke so close to the crowd of people. We had to move to a spot where we couldn't see as well. Go AWAY from people if you want to smoke.

Thanks
A concerned mommy

Day #11 & #12

Geez...I keep falling behind....

Day 11- Another picture of you and your friends

Julie is one of my dearest friends, only one of the handful of people that held our precious Alexis, she is an angel on earth and we will be forever grateful for the gift she gave us...memories of our angel.

Day 12- How you found out about blogger and why you have one

Honestly I don't remember how I found out about blogger...but the reason I have one...to document our life, to keep a history. I want to remember the little things as well as the big things.

Day # 10 - Songs you listen to when you are happy, sad, bored, hyped, mad

Thats a lot of categories...lets see, I'll break it down...

Happy - anything with a beat - Jackson 5's "ABC's" is really great to lift your spirits!

Sad - if I'm sad about Alexis I'll listen to some of "her" songs I have like "Held" by Natalie Grant or "You Wouldn't Cry" by Mandisa

Bored - I really don't know...probably country

Mad - Um...I used to listen to that song called "Vindicated" when I was mad but haven't listened to it in a long time

Hyped - Again, don't really know...these are hard questions...I really just listen to whatever sounds good to me at the moment but I love Country music, though I do like all kinds of songs, its really on a song to song basis...not so much about the band.

Day #8 & #9

Playing catchup once again! Maybe it wasn't a good idea to do this around the holidays. lol Oh well...so yesterday's post was supposed to be...Short term goals for this month and why

- Go to bed by 11:00pm - if you'll remember one of my bad habits is staying up way too late and this talk from General Conference made me realize that by doing so I'm being disobedient. So we need to fix that. I will probably make an exception around the holidays with family, etc. but I'm going to try and be better about it on the normal days.

- Cook Thanksgiving dinner! - thats TOMORROW! ahhh! :)

Ok...now today's challenge is: Something you're proud of in the past few days

Oh oh oh I know! I'm sooo proud of myself for making dinner rolls AND cinnamon rolls last night! And they actually turned out pretty good I think. My mom makes THE BEST cinnamon rolls and its a tradition to have them and egg casserole Thanksgiving & Christmas mornings. In the past I've failed at the rolls but this time I think I did pretty good!

Facebook Integration

Since the news station I work at didn't see fit to publish my Facebook story online, I decided to take matters into my own hands. So, enjoy...

Day #7 - A picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you

I don't know if I can just choose one thing that has THE biggest impact on me...I think there are multiple things so the one I choose to share now is this...

The scriptures...The Bible AND The Book of Mormon. If you haven't read the Book of Mormon, whether you are LDS or not, you really should. It will change your life. I promise. And I don't lie.

If you read it with an open mind and a real desire to know if it is true you will know.

Try it...I dare ya. :)

If I told you there was a book, not a substitute for the Bible, but rather a companion to the Bible, that contained more of God's word, wouldn't you want to read it? Well that is what the Book of Mormon is, ANOTHER Testament of Jesus Christ. If you are sincerely interested, go here to get your own free copy. You won't be sorry. But you have to promise me one thing, if you do read it, please say a prayer...just ask God to let you know if what you are reading is true. He'll tell you.

Day #6 - Favorite Super Hero and why

Oh goodness I have no clue...I'm gonna choose He-man because Zach loves the cartoon from his childhood and my nephew was really cute and would say his prayers like this "please bless the food to make us strong like He-man"! lol And they teach really great lessons in the cartoon.

Day #5 - A picture of somewhere I've been

Well, its 12:52am my time so technically I'm late BUT since I haven't actually gone to sleep for the night yet it still counts. My blog, my rules. :)

So a picture of somewhere I've been...I've been to quite a few places...the grocery store, the dentist, the church, the park...lol, those aren't interesting enough for you? Okay, I have been other more "exciting" places too...Hawaii, France, London, Italy...but the place that is probably the farthest I've ever been from my home is CHINA! Its so natural for me to say "I lived in China" but when I really think about it its still crazy to think that I really DID LIVE in CHINA! lol Well, I did...and here are a couple pictures to prove it...
My roommate Richelle and I being really ridiculous.
I was in China teaching English so here I am with one of the kids I taught. They were hilarious..."Teacha! Teacha!" All my China friends will know what I mean by that and their little voices calling us "Teacha!" in their cute Chinese accent.

Ok...so Zach is feeling a little left out (my fault) and wants to be included in this fun little post so a place HE has been is Argentina! And really, I've been there too. That is where he served a two year mission for our church but then when we had been married a little over a year we had the awesome opportunity to go back and visit one of the families he was closest too. Their son, Lautaro, became his "godson" and he was turning 8 and called Zach wanting him to come to Argentina for his baptism/birthday. And we did! It really was probably my very favorite trip to another country because we stayed with the family, ate what they ate, did what they did...I really got to see how they LIVED there instead of just the touristy places. It was really cool. So here's some more pictures...

Zach on his mission with Lautaro...aren't they cute?!
Us with 3 of the kids

Now this post should probably be titled pictureS of placeS WE've been. There ya go. :) Ok, NOW I can go to bed.

Day #3 AND #4

Oh geez...already falling behind...I was laying in bed last night and realized I hadn't done my post!! But it was past midnight anyway and I wasn't about to get out of bed so today you get two! And with just 18 minutes left I'm barely making it today too. Almost forgot...thanks again to Zach I remembered! :)

Ok...yesterday's was supposed to be a picture of me and my friends, oh goodness...I've been blessed in my life with some great friends...the picture I'm going to use is of me with some amazing women that I am so blessed to call my friends...these women have also experienced the loss of a baby and oh what a support and strength they have been/are to me! Meeting and learning from these friends is one of the good things that has come from this trial. And I have many more angel mom friends that are not pictured here just because they didn't live close.

Today's post is about a habit I wish I didn't have...which one do I choose?! I guess one of them would be the habit we've gotten into of staying up WAY too late. Once Addi goes down its nice to be able to get things done and Zach doesn't get home until 6:45-7pm so I want to have time with him so most of the time we are up at least until midnight. Bad bad bad habit.

Day #2 - The meaning behind your blog name

I almost forgot to do the post today!! Thats what happens when you spend all day working on other blogs. Good thing Zach reminded me.

Ok, the meaning behind our blog name...well its probably obvious but my name is Amy and Zach's name is well, Zach! So A to Z...and both our children's names start with an "A" (not on purpose) but really it works no matter what we name our future children cuz their letter will be in between A and Z! :) So there ya go.

Yummy food!

When Addi was about 4 months we tried to give her some rice cereal but it seemed to upset her tummy and she wasn't sitting up in the bumbo that great yet so I decided to wait until 5 months.

Well she turned 5 months over a week ago and I'd forgotten! :) So the other day we tried some peas and rice cereal. She seemed to do much better this time. See for yourself...

She does like to spit it out a lot but I figure it just takes time to learn. Isn't her smile so dang cute?! She is growing up so fast!
